Shear Determination
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Saturday, 6th of January 2018
Jess and I met again this morning to help Mrs L with her garden. It was my second time at Mrs L's and it was great to see that the work we had done in the summer had lasted and the garden was still looking well.
Jess got hacking at the hedges by the path with some slightly challenging garden shears while I bagged up leaves, weeds and detritus from around the garden. After a warming tea (and cake) break, we moved into the walled part of the garden where we met a very friendly robin.
We felt like we were on Time Team as we bagged up layer after layer of leaves, twigs and mulch, uncovering the garden beneath. Jess found a patio while I discovered a paving slab and flowerpot arrangement.
After two hours of hard graft it was time to go, with a thank you from Mrs L and her daughter.
