Shear madness!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Croydon.
- Saturday, 25th of May 2019
In a week when the UK went to the polls, Good Gymers Ingrid and Ian voted with their feet and ran to help Ms J with her garden!
Saturday was another glorious day down Croydon way and both of us made the most of superb conditions by running and walking to the mission. Ms J welcomed us and explained that she would like the garden tidied and grass cut. We made a start in the lovely garden but soon realised that with the strimmer out of action we would be using shears for the grass.
Once we'd grassped the concept of using shears instead of a lawn mower we kept up our mowtivation and made some progress. We raked up loads of grass and collected bush cuttings which went into a compost bin in another part of the garden (where else but compost corner.....)
One of Ms J's relatives had arrived and kindly made us drinks which were really welcome as it was sweltering by the time we finished.
Ms J was very pleased with what we'd done and grateful for our help.

Well done both - we can't plan for misbehaving mowers, but sounds like you did an amazing job with the other gear. Also, well done on the 10k yesterday!
