After the heat and rain of recent weeks, Ms A was concerned that the shrubs and weeds were getting out of hand so we gathered together hoe, rake, shears and ladder and set about restoring some order to both front and back gardens.

The weeds between the paving stones were quite determined to stay there but we were even more determined that they wouldn’t and with some improvisation with the garden shears to supplement the hoe, we showed them who was boss.

The Wisteria was cut back to keep the front door accessible while leaving enough flowers to keep the bees happy.

After sweeping up and tidying away our tools, we left our bag of garden scraps for collection and bid our farewells.
