Sheets happened
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Sunday, 20th of January 2019
It was a surprisingly cloud-free morning today as I met up with Katie for a mission in Islington.
Our task for this morning seemed like it would be relatively quick: Ms H has arthritis and isn't able to do some common household tasks. We were to turn over her mattress for her and change her sheets.
The mission itself was straightforward (despite the attempts of the most beautiful creature in the world to impede our efforts 😍) and I believe we accomplished it with aplomb. The weirdest/most difficult part of the whole operation was when I got chased away by a squirrel pre-mission...
[Interlude: I originally thought the squirrel was cute for getting close so took a selfie, but it kept on getting closer!! And closer!! And then I remembered the stories I've read about rabid squirrels and decided to move somewhere random to wait for Katie to arrive and deal with the situation, because I think she's braver than I am 💪✌ When she arrived, she tried to position herself between the two of us (because the squirrel didn't take too long to follow me down the road), but the squirrel kept at it! It was even waiting for us as we came out after finishing the mission!! I'm currently writing this report at a nearby bus stop, and I genuinely just flinched at a pigeon because I thought the squirrel was still stalking me. Interlude complete]
Mission accomplished, we made our goodbyes to Ms H and headed off to get to the Islington community mission (we'll only be slightly late 😅) Hopefully Ms H will have a more comfortable sleep as a result of our work (& my newly acquired squirrel-trauma).

squirrels in general, or is it just this one that has its eye on you?
Thankfully, the behaviour of this squirrel is currently an anomaly. Hopefully it won't put the word out to the rest of them that I'm easy pickings! 😅😂
