Shred-it where shred-it’s due
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Camden.
- Saturday, 14th of January 2023
I met Emily on a drizzly saturday morning to continue helping Ms L with sorting her paperwork - we were both glad it was an indoor task!
After unboxing Ms L’s new shredder, Emily got it whirring in no time getting started with the bag of shredding to be done. Meanwhile, Ms L wondered if I could help her with her new induction hot plate. She hadn’t known it only worked with certain pots, but we quickly managed to identify which of her pots were suitable, and I showed her how to test this in future using a fridge magnet.
We then helped Ms L to continue the task of tackling her bag of unsorted paper and sort into: keep, shred or recycle. I’m glad together we were able to get through a bit more of it and help create more space in her life!
I finished with a quick whiz round with the hoover and taking down several new sacks of recycling & shredding waste, and then a canalside run back in the rain.
