On a clear, bright Sunday evening, four GoodGymers made their way to Liverpool's iconic 'Bombed Out Church' to support some brilliant local choirs.
Setting out chairs, assembling posters, directing audience members to their seats, and holding collection buckets after the performance were amongst the tasks undertaken.
And what a performance! The singing was amazing, the choirs gave the performance of their lives and the audience were taken on an emotional roller coaster.
The Choir With No Name runs choirs across the UK for people who are homeless or at risk. The Liverpool choir has over 60 members who meet every week for a rehearsal and to share a hot meal together (cooked by their fabulous volunteers)
An amazing £300+ was donated by audience and choir members...what a fabulous tribute to the volunteers and choir leaders.
Speaking to a vulnerable choir member afterwards, she told me how she had been struggling through lockdown and was in need of help. Our amazing Area Activator, Ema (wearing her Choir With No Name hat) had provided the help and support needed. The Choir member said, 'I didn't know anyone cared about me, I didn't know that anyone loved me that much.'
What a testimonial for the work done by their amazing team.
I am so looking forward to meeting up with these superstars again...🌟
