2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Tuesday, 21st of July 2020
Today Abi and I used our lunch breaks to pop along and help get Mrs M one step closer to coming home from hospital.
It was a short walk to the mission (Abi being euphoric that we came across a plastic bag recycling point en route), then we met the OT involved in Mrs M's discharge, and Mrs M's daughter, and we learned more about the task we'd be applying our elbow grease to.
Mrs M is soon coming home from hospital, and has an entirely appropriate hospital bed that will mean she can do so more comfortably and safely. This, however, has been set up in a room that doesn't have space for the other equipment that will now be necessary.
We focused on clearing space in a larger room, mostly by disassembling a double bed that won't be used for the foreseeable. We cleared space for Medequip to do the necessary equipment transfer, and after deciding it wasn't going to be possible to bring up Mrs M's riser recliner chair as well without breaking it or ourselves, we said our goodbyes and headed off. Mission accomplished!

Great mission both. Also wanted to share some feedback we've had from the referrer - 'Excellent job! Thanks so much for your help'
Nicely done Abi and Dom! Loving those face masks too!
