Smash and grab
6 GoodGymers made their way to help the Ham and Petersham Sea Scouts in Richmond.
- Saturday, 19th of February 2022
- Led by Sam Jones
We were delighted to be back to support the Petersham and Ham Sea Scouts.
We were tasked with two tasks, the one was smashing bigger concrete blocks and distributing these along with other rubble along a pathway next to the scouts hall. Hammers and sledgehammers at hand (and safety goggles) made the smashing pretty easy.
The other task involved collecting branches and sticks (thanks to Storm Eunice) from the two driveways. The scouts will make very good use of these branches, as they love a good bonfire.
We felt the first rain drops and were glad to have managed to finish our tasks just in time.

Great work! Would love to do a community mission involving sledgehammer
This is called making MOT Type I...(Ministry of Transport highway base) which is need as a foundation for paths and currently very expensive as it is all bein gbought up across the UK by the HS2 train build in vast quantities pushing the price sky high. So excellent use of old rubble rather than going to a tip.
