4 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in Tower Hamlets.
- Saturday, 16th of October 2021
- Led by John Shirley
Jo arrived super-early and got straight down to work, having missed GoodGym for 18 months while she vacated London for the duration. Much-travelled Gemma's bike broke down, but she still made it to the task. Jackie arrived fresh from the cinema for her first mission since August, while John turned up hoarse but happy after seeing his football team beat their local rivals.
We were all there to help Care For Calais, a refugees charity, sort children’s clothes donations into categories: e,g, boys 5-11 years, baby girls, etc, and take those deemed unsuitable to Tower Hamlets’ bulging clothes-recycling points. With the assistance of the lovely people already helping at the Big Drop, the job was soon completed. But there’ll be more, for sure.
