Nine amazing runners came along to this Brent Starter Session.
A big welcome to Felicia who joined GoodGym for the first time.
Today we were at Abbey Community Centre helping the volunteers who run the cafe to clear up and pack and everything away.
Once everyone had gathered, Frankie from Abbey came and divvied out the jobs. We split into two teams
The kitchen team: washing up and clearing
Clear up team: Stacking chairs and folding tables away, sweeping and tidy-up
Everyone worked hard and we soon had things cleared and the place looking clean - what a great effort from all involved.
With everything done we headed over to Alexandra Estate to do some fitness work.
We started with shuttles runs, running to a lamp post, jogging back and then running out to the next and jogging back - we did this for a four lamposts getting everyone warm and getting the breathing going.
We then decided to use the steps around the estate for a team race! We took a while getting the race explained and with a bit of help from my taskforce we were there! Two teams, two sets of stairs.. one race!
Lots of hard work running up those steps but by a whisker team Red won - well done although well done to everyone for all the effort.
This being a starter session we curtailed things there but well done everyone.
Cheers, Pritesh
