Storm Dennis doesn't stand a chance against GoodGym
8 GoodGymers made their way to help the Cardiff Council in Cardiff.

On Saturday, we met up after parkrun to help Bute Park to clean-up after the devastation by Storm Dennis.
It was very hard to believe the ground we were stood on was a lake during the week before - after seeing where the river Taff reached.
We got to work with the marshalls - doing the more 'heavy duty' tasks of picking up larger debris and branches from the grounds - which will be used as compost in the future!
With our energy and excitement - we joined in with the 100+ volunteers to tidy up - and finally got the West Gate entrance open - by making it safe for the people of Cardiff. All together, 6 tonnes of debris was put in the back of a massive trailer.
At the end of the day, Bute Park is a paradise for runners - and it's the least we can do to help out. It was brilliant to see how helpful our help was = especially comparing the park before and after the cleanup.
Unfortunately, the storm only brought bad news though - as a LOT of plastic was brought down-stream - so it may be a few weeks/months before everything is back to normal.
