Sweating buckets for a darts champ
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.
- Wednesday, 24th of June 2020
The hottest day of the year. A sun trap garden with white walls. A lot of debris that shouldn’t be on the sun trap garden. Two GoodGymmers. And a guy from DynaRod, but he was finishing up as we arrived.
It sounded like a fair fight, but with just two small trowels snd a plastic rake, the sweat was soon dripping down our faces, off our noses and into our eyes whilst we tried valiantly to stick to the CV19 guidance to not touch MEN (mouth, eyes and nose).
90 minutes later, the GoodGymmers definitely had the upper hand and the garden was ready for planting whilst the bin bag mound was huge. And neither of us needed the loo as we’d sweated so much.
Ms R was really impressed and insisted we refill our water bottles with ice and chilled water at which pointed we spotted her darts trophy from 1982, two years after she’s moved to Bristol - she’s a champion and her garden now has fewer champignons.
