Sweep away your Christmas blues
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Sunday, 8th of January 2017
On Sunday, two Goodgymers ran to Hackney to tidy up Ms Ns patio garden.
On arrival, Ms N explained that her little garden had become quite untidy with leaves and some broken pots, and needed putting in back in order. Some of the plants needed trimming and a BBQ moved.
Ben & Hazel quickly got to work sweeping up the leaves and ashes from the BBQ & bagging these up. Thankfully, the rain that threatened to appear stayed away & good progress was made. Having weeded & trimmed back the potted plants, Ben got cracking with emptying a bath of some stagnant water (eww!) and tidying up an outdoor cupboard. Meanwhile Hazel took to repotting the plants sitting in broken pots & draining some old vases & paint pots full of water.
The last task was then shifting the drum BBQ down the side of the house & out of the way. Only after we'd rolled it over a few times & propped it up did we realise that there was a stand for it to sit on! With a final spray of moss killer & gathering up the 4 bags of rubbish we called it time & surveyed a job well done.
