First may i doff my hat to Louise for this exceptional pun?
Double milestone alert!
Oh, what a night at last night's visit to Recyke Y Bike, the amazing charity doing brilliant things to recycle bikes and pass them on to those who need them in our community. I have lost count of the times we have visited now and every time there is something new to do in this massive space.
It was a special evening as we celebrated our last group run before the Queen's Jubilee and most importantly, two big 200 milestones on the same night- this has taken a bit of careful planning I know! Huge congratulations Charlotte and Louise. Charlotte's favourite task still remains our early-days visit to paint a school changing rooms, while Louise fondly remembered the impact of helping out at East End Women foodbank every week during the lockdown. They have both been amazing members of the Task Force and I am personally impressed with all 400 good deeds!
While Tom and Louise were given the job to fold a huge set of inner tubes, Paul was on carpet gluing duty to repair the stair carpet with his trademark precision. The rest of us were tasked with sweeping and mopping the massive workshop space to make it smell "less like socks" (that is a direct quote). We all took turns throughout the evening to make a fuss of resident dog Scout, too.
After the task we had a great catch up at The Tyne Bar where we celebrated the double 200 along with Aimee's 200th which she reached a few weeks ago, with an amazing cake made by Louise. The perfect end to the night!
Louise is back with good deed 201 tomorrow with a Benwell leaflet drop tomorrow evening. Do good bank holiday things with her if you can.
