Synchronised plogging
9 GoodGymers made their way to help the Southsea Beachwatch in Portsmouth.
- Saturday, 8th of August 2020
- Led by Judy Knapp
Nine of us met for a litter-pick on Eastney beach to clear up after the visitors from a scorching week.
The earlybirds were Jen, Jo K, Angela, Val, India, Sarah, Maxine, Rachel and me.
Despite our 7.30am start, visitors were already arriving to set up their beach tents, picnic tables and chairs ready for another day by the sea.
As well as the usual bottles & cans, plastic bottle caps, cigarette ends and litter caught in the sea kale, we collected 2 disposable BBQs, 2 pairs of swim goggles, nail clippers, a hat, knickers and, unfortunately, a used sanitary towel.
After an hour of plogging, it was time for plunging.... and to add another sport to this week's GGPortsmouth Olympic challenge, we finished with a spot of beautiful synchronised swimming!
