The Butt of the Joke, Yet the Fag End Was in Sight

Slightly thin on the ground this week following the literal highs of our mission up Locke Park tower at the weekend. Not deterred though, I had arranged to meet up with a Keep Barnsley Tidy volunteer, Gill, to do some guided litterpicking. It was a short uphill run to Stocks Lane to meet Gill and get our tools (near Howarth Tools). After introductions were made and pleasantries exchanged, it was time to get picking.
We started along Stocks Lane, binning butts and picking plastic packets as we proceeded. We entered Cresswell Street Memorial Park to do a victory lap, picking litter that had been loosed. There were several dens of detritus in the hedges of the park, which we made spick and span. After having filled four purple bags full we left them next to a bin and reported them for collection, taking the opportunity to get a selfie! We agreed that it would be prudent to set up a monthly pick with GoodGym and KeepBarnsleyTidy, so work behind the scenes will be occurring to enable this!
Picking done... fitness session time! Press-ups and burpees in the park before heading back to Glasshouse to stretch off.
Until next time!
