The claw of the Griffin
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Saturday, 12th of August 2017
When three GG Yorkies turned up at Mrs I's door, she greeted us with a 98 and 3/4 year old twinkle in her eye. She was pleased to be getting help with tidying up the flower beds and hedges in her beautiful garden, as she can only afford to pay for the lawn to be mowed.
While Mrs I provided us with a variety of tools, the Griffins brought along some of their own tools, including Barbara's magic claw which was good for all manner of tasks. Today she used it for scraping moss from the flower beds and raking dead leaves from underneath bushes. Nick used his height to his advantage to tidy up some of the taller hedges while the ladies got to work on the flower beds.
We made short work of the front garden, and so moved around to the back to do more of the same. In 90 minutes, both gardens were looking neat and tidy. Our mission was complete.
Mrs I was delighted with the results and, though we told her it really wasn't necessary, she insisted on feeding us some chocolate to replenish our energy levels for the run home.
