The Early Bird...
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Tuesday, 16th of June 2020
A few Tuesdays of practice on this particular mission seems to have paid off, as today's mission went pretty well from start to finish. At 0755 I found myself 11th on the list this week (I confess I even came prepared with some tape and paper to try and avoid a repeat of last week's "mystery of the missing sign up sheet" saga - still took a photo just in case...).
Mrs E's daughter had a new letter which confirmed that her referrer was chasing down the food vouchers that the volunteers had said they would require from this week on and so at 1130 I was back at the church as prepared as could be.
There seemed to be less of a crowd than in previous weeks (perhaps the voucher scheme has deterred some), and the volunteers should win a prize for insisting that everyone spread out to 2m gaps before they would continue serving...By 1150 I was at the table, the letter thankfully provided them with what they needed and I was soon walking back to Mrs E's with food bags in hand - at the door it was another brief chat with Mrs E's daughter to confirm all had gone smoothly this week!

Great job once again with this mission Nick. You're getting the hang of it - I'm sure Mrs E and her daughter are very grateful!
