Time to put this year to bed!
4 GoodGymers made their way to help the Bristol Churches Winter Night Shelter in Bristol.

Recharged from the Christmas holidays and eager to get a last good deed in before the end of the year, 4 runners helped out Bristol Churches Winter Night Shelter with turning a private property, kindly donated by its owner, into a night shelter for the homeless.
Our job was to dismantle some of the beds carefully for storage and move unnecessary mattresses out of the rooms. An easy task thanks to the owner who had labelled the pieces to each bed before our arrival and directed us to collect every single bolt and screw in a pre-labelled bag. This way, it will be easy to reassemble bed quickly when they are needed again. The only challenge for us was to carry the beds and mattresses up (or down) a flight of stairs and stack everything neatly into a tiny storage room.
We split up in two teams with Matt and Russ tackling the beds on the downstairs floor and Roz and Sarah getting started with moving mattresses in the middle floor. Soon enough we got slightly confused by the number of rooms and floors as all the rooms looked very similar. The owner doubled checked that we had cleared out the right rooms and taken apart all unwanted beds. She was very impressed by our work and is hoping to have us back once the beds need to come out of storage again.
Great job everyone!
