Here's what Ms R of BH1 had to say about the mission:

We received a lovely email from the beneficiary's sister thanking runners for their hard work: 'Daryl and Neil arrived just before 4 and were able to help me in moving things around and they kindly took the marble top off the sideboard (I could not lift it as it is so heavy) and they proceeded to slide the sideboard out enough so that we could unplug the old t.v. They then put everything back in place and I was able to set up the new t.v. on top the sideboard. To prevent this situation happening again, I have used an extension lead for the t.v. which is plugged in to the other side of the room, so that we won't have to move the sideboard again, hopefully. I just wanted to say a big thank you to you and your staff who didn't give up trying and managed to arrange for these two to help. I was desperate for some help and I really appreciate your efforts in making this happen. Many thanks too to Daryl and Neil who were both pleasant, funny and gave me the feeling that nothing was too much trouble for them. This was a big relief to me and I am very grateful to you all.'

Ms R of BH1, mission beneficiary

For today's GoodGym mission Darryl and Neil braved the cold and wet weather to help move a heavy sideboard so a new TV could be set up. Meeting at Flirt cafe we set off through the gardens and shot past the town hall to face the Bradley Road hill of doom. Taking it easy up the hill we had a nice flat run to the mission location. Ms R's sister met us at the door and showed us the sideboard that needed moving. It had a very heavy marble top that meant it was far too heavy for her or her sister to move themselves. The old TV was plugged in behind the sideboard and was blocking the new TV. We got to work moving the TVs off the sideboard before lifting the marble top which was indeed very heavy! Once the top was off it was fairly quick to move the unit forward and unplug the old TV. The it was just a case of moving the sideboard back; getting the marble top back on and the TV was in place! Ms R's sister explained they had been trying for 6 months to find a way to get this sorted out! In 10 minutes we'd done the job and she was very happy with the result. A great little mission which although small made a big difference! After saying goodbye we took a different route back heading through Dean Park and down through Horseshoe Common. A quick dash to the centre of town where we parted and headed home.

Well done both - these are some of my favourite missions, where a long frustrating problem can be sorted really quickly. Amazing!
