A rainy evening and 12 runners gathered at Market Row to get stuff done in the rain. It was about as bleak as summer can get; pouring buckets down from the heavens without stopping for a second.
We went to Rosendale Allotments where the ditch was unfortunately too wet again. Instead we were asked to attack the many anthills that was getting in the way of the wheel barrows.
There were 18 anthills that had to be cleared. We whacked back the turf on top like a dodgy toupe. It was absolutely smashing it down with rain. We had pick-axes and 12 spades to do the job. It was tough! We worked hard for 30 mins and the job was done.
We headed to Brockwell park and did a caterpillar up the hills. Kath was pretty nippy along the side.
We did 4 x 1 min hill sprint with 1 min rest still in the pouring rain. Adam and James really nailed that hill despite the heavy rain. Nothing was dry. We hot-footed it back to base; a good stretch and a bit of warmth.
