What a way to start the festival vibes, 42 lovetrail lovelies joined the goodgym crew for the first run of the weekend. Michael led a warm up game of beans to get the heart rates going and the muscles warmed up.
Everybody warm and raring to go
Yeah
A run of 8.5 km (total there and back), longer than our usual runs but this is festival time!
Big Meadow CSA is a 80 member ‘Community Supported Agriculture’ providing weekly organic veg, running volunteer days, working with local primary schools as well as setting up a residential programme to work with young people from Swansea. There was plenty for 40 plus people, in their own words...
Awesome bunch of people! They smashed out the jobs, just as we were beginning to feel overwhelmed by the to do list.
We smashed our way through the compost heap, as it was turned, layered and combined into one. The weeds around the carrots were removed, now those orange beauties can grow strong. The comfrey was cut down, shredded and added back to the soil as a great green manure. The tomato supports were strengthened. So much was achieved in our hour at the Meadow, weeds - what weeds?
Now lets get back to the festival for some food, music and more FUN...
