We Scoured the Churchyard for a good pun. And couldnt find one! What a Grave Situation!
5 GoodGymers made their way to help their local community in York.

Tim, Craig and Ben huffed and wheezed over the finish line at York Parkrun. after catching our breaths and accumulating a fresher and less parkrunned Emily. We hit the road and up to Acomb.
"I definitely know the way from Acomb Green" - Tim
Once we got to Acomb Green we were a little navigationally challenged as Tim couldnt find the entrance to the churchyard. But it was all good as it meant a cheeky hill rep enroute. Upon arriving we found cyclist Ellie and quickly set to work cleaning up the 12 ww1 gravestones.
Tim was sent on a little supply run to grab some sponges to aid our efforts. Emily, Ben and Craig got stuck in. Even managing to get some of the graves back to a sparkling white.
The best tool was quickly found to be the toothbrush, and we probably could have done with more! Not something we ever thought we would say about a GG mission.
Ellie did some sterling work looking up some of the history which really added to the importance of the mission. But she might have got carried away with the spade.
"You look like a Grave Robber" - Craig... no it was Ben... no i dont remember. Basically Ellie looked like a Grave Robber. It was a humourous occurence.
Alongside the other volunteers we got all 12 done, in classic GG speedy time; a full hour earlier than they expected us!
All in all a grand job well done. Cheers gang!
