We won't let the weed win
3 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Hackney.
- Sunday, 11th of November 2018
Here's what Mr E of E8 had to say about the mission:
Mr E called to say he was very grateful for the help the 3 runners gave him at the weekend, he said his garden is looking so much better! He wanted to say thanks and asked us to pass on his gratitude.
This mission in Hackney brought together GGers from three different areas: I met with Freya and Phil to get some gardening done at Mr. E's house. He showed us the front and back garden, made available some tools and gloves and showed us what needed to be done. Weed had spread quite massively as Mr. E told us he doesn't manage anymore to take care of gardening very regularly on his own. We cracked on with the task, while chatting about runs, holidays, climate change and more! Pretty soon the wheelie bin was getting full of weed and other dirt, but we were resolute to make a proper good cleaning on both sides of the house. We finished our mission sprinkling some weed killer allover, hoping it will make its job for a while!
