Weed done a great job!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Saturday, 7th of October 2017
After meeting en route and Sally (on foot) trying to keep up with Anna (on a bike) we arrived at Mr L's to help him clear and weed his garden. Mr L said he was expecting 2 men - but we insisted we were up to the job!
We got to work and after a few thorn-in-finger mis-haps we quickly started to clear the garden, so Mr L could enjoy it more.
Anna, fresh off another mission that morning (well on her way to getting her 50 good deeds t-shirt!) expertly pulled all the weeds growing in the cracks of the pavement. Sally, got to work on the flower beds to clear them of unwanted leaves and weeds.
We worked for nearly 2 hours and completely filled the brown gardening waste bin - with these jobs you always feel there is more you can do, but when comparing the before and after, we knew we had made a big difference! Mr L was grateful for what we had done, and maybe GoodGym can return in the spring to plant some flowers in the newly cleared flowerbeds :) All in all, a great mission - and a first for Sally!
