The weather was mighty fine, the sky was blue and the sun was shining bright. You would never have guessed it was February in the UK and well what a re-leaf!
Hidden amongst the buildings on the steep hill in Widcombe lies a burial ground for Quakers. As you enter through the inconspicuous gates you enter an oasis of calm and are greeted by an excitable puppy!! I forgot to take a picture of the puppy, but I think everyone who attended would agree that he was gorgeous.
There was lots of work to do, so we split the tasks between us.
- Emily planted a tree, moved a water butt with Jer and fill an uneven area with top soil.
- Jer and Sam moved some headstones to a different part of the garden
- Max and Stephanie stripped the ivy off the wall
- Emily and Helen cut back the diseased tree to make room for new plants. Jer and then Emily joined in with the fun and managed to help bring down a massive branch with some sawing exercise. Boy, did I feel that in my arms :) !
In just two hours we managed a great deal and filled five huge bags with garden clippings!
Well done to all for achieving so much in such little time and we certainly lucked out with the weather!
Until next time...see-saw you then!
