When I'm Screening Windows!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Islington.
- Saturday, 23rd of June 2018
Here's what Ms L of N1 had to say about the mission:
Thank you so much. It took longer than they anticipated, but they did a great job and got it working. I'm going to feel safer, not having to go on the stairs carrying the laptop any more.
On a beautiful hot and hayfevery day, Hannah and Steve met in Islington to help Ms L out with some printer and PC issues. She welcomed us in, set us up with instruction manuals, CDs, and most importantly a couple of glasses of icy water to cool us down after our journeys there.
Hannah and Steve both have jobs related to IT, but Windows does not care for that. Hannah led the charge with Steve co-piloting as we made our way through multiple restarts, setups, wizards that seem to have very little magical powers if any at all actually, and instruction books so challenging Steve was ready to go out and do Parkrun all over again.
But we were not to be beaten - Hannah cracked the Matrix and a delighted Ms L was able to print wirelessly, magically through the air. After thank-yous and goodbyes, it was back out into the sunshine to enjoy the weekend.
