Where everybody knows your bedframe! And they are always glad you came!
2 GoodGymers made their way to help an isolated older person in Southwark.
- Wednesday, 1st of April 2020
Good Morning goodgymmers! Today the dream team (Marta and I) went to Mr R's home in Southwark. We met the lovely volunteer from red cross and got to work. The task was to measure the bed and move it downstairs so Mr R could be discharged from the hospital. We made light work of moving the mattress downstairs but struggled a lot with the bed framed due to a narrow hallway and some low hanging lights. After a lot of pivoting action, the dream team were forced to give up. Marta spotted a bed frame upstairs which appeared to split into two parts. The clip holding the two beds together looked flimsy and the red cross team member advised us to give up and just let the council order a new bed.
The red cross team member thanked us profusely, and told us how much she enjoyed meeting people from goodgym and after a quick hand wash and another disinfecting we were on our way home. On the way back a lady stuck her head out the window and told us we had lovely hair (which we do. Both of us are truly blessed with magnificent barnets) and we walked back home truly appreciating the beautiful spring day.
Stay safe fellow goodgymmers!
