Mission

Where there’s a hill there’s a way

1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in Bristol.

A repeat visit to Ms P in Hotwells to continue tidying up her garden. I’d wondered how I was going to fit in today’s training run which was due to include a few hill reps but I needn’t have worried as there was a perfect slope just round the corner from her home and having arrived early there was just time to fit in the required number of short reps.

That done Ms P asked me to do some more climbing and produced a ladder so that I could tackle the ivy, brambles and branches hanging over the tall wall of her garden.

My previous efforts had spurred Ms P on to keep on top of the garden at ground level and she had been encouraged by improved health data as a result.

It’s great to learn that missions can not only sort a problem for an older person but can also empower them to do some things themselves - sometimes it just needs us to get the ball rolling 😊
