8 wannabe lumberjacks made their way to the Braywick Nature Centre to take on round two of the firewood challenge.
In true Goodgym style a photo shoot was the first item on the agenda, with saws lifted high and Goodgym T-shirts beared 'The Woodsawing Sisters ' were assembled. Amy then ran through the tasks for the evening; the left over logs from last week needed sawing and then we would be re-rooted to the outdoor classroom for more action round the campfire. It didn't take long for everyone to pair up and saw through the pile of logs, cutting them into 12" lengths (or Subway baguettes (other sandwich outlets are available!)). These were then piled up against the fence ready for storage and use by the Nature Centre during their activities. Whilst the last logs were cut, a few planks were demonstrated and talk of a wooden baton relay was quickly dismissed! A special mention goes to Kelley who brought her own saw! The team then brandished saws and branched out heading to the outdoor classroom area. Once Jess lock-Smith got the team through the gate it was onto more sawing. The team was on fire - wood and again the pile of logs was quickly cut and stacked in the wood store.
This of course left only one last thing to do......more photos! The triumphant Woodsawing Sisters (Sula, Juli, Georgeta, Sophie, Louisa, Kelley, Amy and Jess) may have saw arms in the morning but the Braywick Nature Centre now have plenty of wood to bring some light to their campfire sessions.
