Why so shear-ious
1 GoodGymer made their way to help an isolated older person in York.
- Saturday, 14th of August 2021
On a windy Saturday morning, I cycled all the way to Haxby to help Mrs A. The bushes in front of her house were overgrown and blocking sunlight entering the house so needed some trimming back.
With shears in hand I got to work. I managed to trim as many branches as I could and saw a visible difference. I unfortunately could not cut some of the stubborn branches (mainly due to my small height not being able to reach!) but was able to clear enough to let the sunlight in. I also managed to clear the gate of branches and cut the hedge on the front pavement.
After 90 minutes of hard graft (seriously my arms were shaking!) I bid farewell and cycled back home against a challenging headwind.
