GoodGym and Brompton were back at it again today, taking a big group of new starters out to make a difference in the local community.
For this months' task we were kindly hosted by Horsenden Farm who had plenty for the group to get their teeth into.
A group of 11 enthusiastic Bromptoneers set of with AA Yianny to head down the canal to the farm - about a ten minute cycle away. The weather was absolutely perfect being sunny and crisp (with no rain in sight!) so made the perfect conditions to get us on our way.
On arrival we were met by Jonathan and Elsa who took us through the task at hand - chopping down and raking tonnes of bramble from the hill! The grazing cows had been moved across to another pasture so we had the place to ourselves and the group set about clearing masses of bramble to be mulched and used by the farm. Bramble the cow and her sister were very much impressed that we were clearing the way for their grazing.
Check out the pictures to see everyone in action and how much work was done in 90 or so minutes.
As we waved goodbye to the farm animals (and the Gruffalo!) we can only hope for plenty more of this weather throughout the winter.
A huge thank you to everyone for their hard work and we look forward to our next session together.
