Foodcycle contacted me to say they had no one to collect the surplus food for the charity today. So rather than running to the task I jumped in my car to collect a great variety of salad, fruit and veg, including 4 boxes of iceberg lettuces, from Sainsburys, that other wise would have made it to land fill. After loading up the car I then set off to Aldi where I collected more than 20 loaves of bread and other groceries before delivering them to High Town Baptist Church ready for the cooking team to work some culinary magic to turn this surplus produce into a delicious and nutritious meal for local people.
