Miss D was pleased to see me today, and we had a really lovely time chatting. We talked a lot about her family and her nieces dog, David Attenborough, Dr Who and the Royal Family. She showed me where her new fence had to be installed in the garden after it had blown down on a particularly windy day recently. She was even kind enough to offer me a cup of tea and a mince pie. An avid bird watcher, she told me the story behind her Avocet ornament (which is much like the one pictured here). In the shop, the person couldn’t understand her and thought she was asking for ‘another set’ of what the previous customer had purchased, not realising that the proper name for the bird which the ornament is, was an Avocet, which she found very amusing!

Looking forward to my next visit already, Miss D thanked me for coming to see her and was very grateful to have my company, so it felt like a very worthwhile visit.
