Rainy Days and Take Aways

Before arriving for todays session at Foodcycle, all volunteers had received an email to let us know that due to having no-one to lead the hosting team, this evenings meal would be served as a take away. Mayra and myself were in the kitchen team but due to the circumstances our task didn’t just involve chopping, cutting and washing up. Whilst we did a lot of that too. The dishes being made for the take away were Vege stew with lentils and kidney beans and apple 🍎 and pear 🍐 pie 🥧 for pudding. We set out chairs for the guests to sit on when they arrived and as it was raining outside we decided to provide a hot drink for everyone coming in out of the rain, which was quite heavy at points. Abdo and Derrick were in the hosting team and they looked after the guests until they left with their dinner and then the guys packed up. Well done everyone, great effort under different circumstances 👏
